There are so many wonderful things available to us here in the wine country. I am constantly finding new wines, restaurants and food items worth writing about and I hope that you will enjoy my discoveries.

This blog is not just about weddings, but about what makes this part of the world such a draw; great food, excellent wine and wonderful people. I hope you enjoy reading these posts and can find yourself here, enjoying the same amazing things we do.

Farm Trails

This weekend in Sonoma County is Farm Trails where many of the local family farms are open to the public.  We started our day at http://www.splitrailfamilyfarms.com where we played with baby goats, calves, sheep, pigs and itty bitty chicks.  Very cool place with beautiful animals to get up close and personal with.

We then headed west to http://www.springhillcheese.com/ where we ate lunch on hay bales, went for a tractor ride and picked our own pumpkins right out of the field.  The kids loved running wild and sampling the delicious cheese and homemade pumpkin ice cream.  Another great weekend in amazing Sonoma County.

Family Treasures

I had another beautiful wedding this past weekend at Calistoga Ranch.  I loved how we displayed the family photos…vintage mirrors and frames made for an exceptional entryway.  To me, one of the most important elements in a wedding are the things that make it personal.  We are blessed with gorgeous locations, exquisite wine and food, outstanding vendors…everything you need for a fabulous weekend of entertaining.  But remember to pay attention to the little details ~ family photos show your history and are a glimpse to the future.

Kenwood Inn & Spa

I had a great wedding this past weekend at the Kenwood Inn & Spa.  The family and their friends gathered for a weekend long affair with wine adventures, luncheons, dinner and then of course a beautiful wedding on Saturday.

The first two pictures are from the bridal lunch that was hosted at Estate Restaurant in Sonoma which is now owned and operated by the Girl & The Fig.  Fabulous space and delicious food – the perfect combination for a relaxed get together.

The pictures below are from the wedding….of course my favorite part was the bride and groom entering through the sword arch ~ here are the guys practicing during the cocktail reception.

Another great weekend wedding, taking complete advantage of the amazing things this area has to offer.
